3 reasons why you should spend the summer of 2025 in Florianópolis

Brazil's beaches are the first destinations that come to mind for travelers. They offer warm weather, refreshing seas, diverse culinary options, entertainment, and excursions, in addition to all the positive energy that the coastal region has to offer.

One of the most popular destinations for this time of year is Florianópolis, the capital of Santa Catarina. And do you know why? We'll tell you and convince you that spending the summer of 2025 on the Magic Island will be the best option for your vacation.

Best time for swimming

Summer is the best time to be in Florianópolis, mainly because of the beaches. The hottest days of the year make the water warm enough for swimming. Because it is located in the southern part of the country, fall and winter are not ideal times for this activity.

According to the Sea Temperature website, the average water temperature in summer reaches 25.2°C in Floripa, and can exceed 26°C in January. It's delightful! In winter, however, it's almost 10°C cooler. So there's no chance of going in the sea without freezing to death. And there is no shortage of beaches on the Magic Island. Some say there are 42, others claim there are 100 beaches. What we do know is that you will have dozens of destinations to enjoy a delicious swim in the sea.

The Caribbean in Florianópolis

With the devaluation of the Brazilian real, many people who had plans to spend the summer in the Caribbean are now opting for domestic travel. The good news is that Florianópolis may surprise you with its crystal clear blue waters.

Take note of these three tips: Campeche Island, Lagoinha, and Barra da Lagoa. At all of these destinations, you will find the clear, calm sea of your dreams.

To visit Campeche Island, you need to book a boat trip. The site is listed by the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN) and only allows 700 people per day.

Lagoinha Beach is located in the north of Florianópolis. It has calm, clear waters, perfect for families to enjoy with children. It is located between Ponta das Canas and Brava beaches.

In Barra da Lagoa, there are natural pools with clearer waters, formed by a crack in the coastline. But to get there, you must follow a trail. It is important to note: only enter the water if you know how to swim.

Boat trips and diving

Boat trips become more frequent in the summer. There are several options for family fun. In addition to the boat trip to Campeche Island, mentioned above, there is a schooner trip to Anhatomirim Island, a place that preserves a little of Santa Catarina's history. The Pirate Ship is another attraction in Floripa.

It is still possible to schedule a time for a boat trip. For those who enjoy diving and exploring the seabed, there are boat trips for this activity. There are options to Ilha do Arvoredo, Ilha do Xavier, and Bombinhas.

Floripa is definitely the place to go!

We've convinced you to spend the summer of 2025 in Florianópolis, haven't we? In addition to these three reasons, there are many dining, leisure, and entertainment options in every corner of the island.
